Georgia runs its own marketplace as of the 2025 plan year — Georgia Access — which replaced HealthCare.gov for enrolling in ACA plans. The metal tiers, essential benefits and premium tax credits are the same; the enrollment front door just changed. Roughly 1.5 million Georgians selected marketplace coverage in the most recent Open Enrollment, and about 95% qualified for a premium tax credit.
Because Georgia hasn't fully expanded Medicaid, the marketplace carries most of the weight for affordable coverage, and the subsidy math is generous for many working-age residents. Premiums and carrier networks vary between metro Atlanta and the rest of the state, so where you live in Georgia matters as much as your income.
We're licensed in Georgia and quote its major carriers every day. Georgians enroll in marketplace plans through Georgia Access, the state's own exchange — we are an independent agency and are not Georgia Access. Georgia Access is Georgia's state-based health insurance marketplace, which replaced HealthCare.gov for Georgians beginning with the 2025 plan year. You enroll in the same kind of ACA plans, with the same premium tax credits — a licensed agent can enroll you through Georgia Access at no extra cost and also show private off-exchange plans.
For most Georgians it's a subsidized ACA marketplace plan through Georgia Access. With about 95% of enrollees receiving a premium tax credit, many qualify for a Silver plan at little or no monthly cost after the subsidy, while others pay full price. If your income qualifies for cost-sharing reductions, a Silver plan also lowers your deductible — often a better deal than a cheaper-looking Bronze plan.
