Compare ACA marketplace and private plans across the San Diego metro — with a California-licensed agent who knows the local carrier networks.
Not a government marketplace. Health Enrollment Center is operated by Sprinter Insurance Agency LLC.
If you live in the San Diego metro — covering San Diego and surrounding counties — your health insurance options and pricing are shaped by the carriers and provider networks operating locally. Two plans with the same premium can have very different hospital and specialist networks, which is exactly where a good agent earns their keep.
Palomar's North County hospitals joined with UC San Diego Health in a joint powers authority on 1 July 2026 and now operate as Palomar UC San Diego Health. The two stay separate health systems with separate licenses, so it is worth checking the specific hospital rather than assuming one name covers both.
California runs its own state-based marketplace, Covered California, and adds state subsidies on top of the federal premium tax credit for many residents. California expanded Medicaid (Medi-Cal) and offers some of the most generous coverage in the country, including Medi-Cal eligibility regardless of immigration status for many residents. Above the Medi-Cal line, Covered California layers state subsidies onto the federal premium tax credit, so a large share of enrollees pay very little.
We're licensed in California and quote San Diego residents every week. We'll compare marketplace plans (with any premium tax credit you qualify for) against private off-marketplace options, check that your doctors and preferred hospitals are in-network, and enroll you over the phone — at no cost.
These systems operate in the area. Which ones a given plan actually contracts with varies by carrier and by plan — we check your specific doctors and hospitals before you enroll.
These companies offer individual and family health plans in San Diego. We're an independent agency, not an insurance company, and we don't offer every plan available here. Tell us which doctors and hospitals matter to you and we'll show you what we can quote.
Don't see yours? Call a licensed agent — most answers take under two minutes.
Premiums in the San Diego metro depend on your age, household size and income, and the specific plan. Many residents are found eligible for a premium tax credit that lowers the marketplace price substantially, while households above the income range pay full price. A licensed agent will price your exact ZIP in San Diego and surrounding counties in a few minutes.
Carriers active in the San Diego area include Kaiser Permanente, Blue Shield of California, Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net, Molina Healthcare and others, though the exact lineup and networks vary by county. We're an independent agency rather than a single carrier's captive shop, but we don't offer every plan sold here — tell a licensed agent which doctors you need and they'll tell you what we can quote.
The largest systems in the area include Kaiser Permanente, Scripps Health, Sharp HealthCare, UC San Diego Health, Palomar UC San Diego Health and Rady Children's Health. Whether a specific plan contracts with a specific system varies — the same carrier may include one system on its PPO and exclude it from its HMO — so we check your actual doctors and hospitals against the plan you're considering instead of assuming a network from the carrier's name.
No. We're a licensed insurance agency paid by the carriers, not by you. The premium of any plan is identical whether you enroll through us or directly with the insurer — you just also get an agent who handles renewals and claims questions.
No. Health Enrollment Center is a brand operated by Sprinter Insurance Agency LLC, a private licensed insurance agency. We are not HealthCare.gov, not a state exchange, and not affiliated with any government agency. We help you enroll in marketplace plans when they're the best fit, and we also show private plans the marketplace doesn't carry.
Start with your ZIP. Two quick questions, then a licensed agent brings you the plans you actually qualify for — no cost, no obligation.
